Help! I Keep Losing My Temper
“Losing your temper is a lot like losing your car keys—you never choose to and it always seems to happen at the worst moments. For some “losing your temper” means yelling, swearing, pounding a fist on the table. For others, lost temper is barely perceptible: a tightening of the jaw, a cold silence, but the angry feelings are still swarming, just hidden away inside.”
Fear of Missing Out on God’s Word?
“And what if our problem is we come to the Word of God with the same fear of missing out we attribute to news, views, social media, information, and books? Fearing if we miss this one part, we’ll miss something big? What if God’s goodness to us in that is to make his Word unchanging? We don’t have to approach it with a fear of missing out because the words within it are always useful for life and godliness.”

Because There’s No Gospel All Day
“This is no small advice. This is a strong warning. It’s a declaration of war. It’s a reminder that our enemy, the devil, prowls around like a lion seeking to devour whatever he can. We can’t see the fight beyond our vision, but it’s there and we wrestle against the darkness. Wrestle, not stand idly by. We live in enemy occupied territory, and our gospel message of faith alone in Christ alone by grace alone isn’t welcome to a world that celebrates the darkness. So my friend is absolutely right. There’s no gospel all day–unless we make a point to wrestle against the darkness and do so with the gospel.”
