They say stand against abortion bans,
But let us not forget,
Abortions bans are murder bans,
And there are none of us who get,
To decide who lives or dies,
That’s a child in the womb,
Can you hear the silent cries,
As 60 million meet their doom?
Women can do what they want with their body,
But that’s a different person within,
That’s your child, your baby, your closet kin.
Look at the face in the ultrasound,
Watch your baby move around,
Watch her suck her thumb and yawn,
Nestled safety in the womb of her mom.
Then ask yourself, ‘What does the science say?’
Your baby has her own DNA.
She can dream and hurt and feel,
How can it be ok,
To dismember and kill?
They say men can’t talk about this, they only want control,
But for a child’s right
To life I’ll fight
With the hope that we might
Let these babies see the light
Of day and no longer be aborted
No matter how much the story gets contorted
It’s about the baby not control
So I will not be quiet.
When did outlawing murder become and act of oppression?
Where else do we allow such violent aggression?
Does a mother have the “right” to kill her 3 year-old
In the laws of any nation?
Can a father kill his 5 year-old
to further his education?
Should a parent kill their 8 year-old
because they’re in a difficult season?
Should anyone kill a healthy child
For any financial reason?
How can you rejoice?
And say that it’s your choice,
To stop a beating heart,
To tear a child apart,
In the name of “reproductive rights”
A human life’s been stunted,
When will their life start to matter?
Only when they’re wanted?
This is not a private decision,
One person can’t decide,
Based on what they want,
Who gets to live or die.
Abortion is rarely required
to keep the mother alive,
Less than 1% are a result of rape,
That argument’s a lie,
In 98% of cases there’s another reason
That a baby has to die.
Abortionist went from “safe, legal, and rare”
To “abortion is healthcare.”
But, on behalf of the baby, let me ask you where
Is the health and where is the care?
Some say we should legalize abortion,
and in the very least,
If it’s easy and accessible,
The cases will decrease.
If that is true, why have any law?
Theft, abuse, homicide, and rape,
Let’s legalize them all,
Let’s make them easy and accessible,
And see if the numbers fall.
We know that’s not the case,
That argument’s a facade.
Taking life we didn’t create,
We are trying to play God.
By all means, let’s have compassion for the mothers
Who are scared and unsure of what to do,
The goal is not to shame them
But we can’t hide from what is true.
Abortion is ending life,
Let’s consider other options,
We’ll fund and provide alternatives,
Education, counseling, adoptions.
Let’s strive to provide resources for struggling mothers and maybe
We can walk this difficult time with you,
But please, please, please don’t kill the baby.
