Light Has Pierced the Darkness: A Poem

Posted on December 23, 2018 by James Williams

My bitter heart grows heavy, another unanswered prayer,
How long O Lord, until you answer
And rid the body of this cancer,
No, this isn’t fair!

My pleas just hit the ceiling, silence fills the air,
Now my pain the great enhancer,
Taking joy, no more a dancer,
How much do you care?

Christmas a reminder,
The promises you kept,
Light has pierced the darkness.

You are the great provider,
Your plan I must accept,
Obedient steps and heavy hearts that trust your way is best.
